Technology Enhanced Learning
Technology enhanced learning (TEL) is an effective use of emerging techniques and technologies to enhance the students’ learning experience with innovative teaching methods. IVE Engineering has been developing various innovative technologies together with pedagogies in support of learning and teaching, such as Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Massive Open Online Course (MOOC). Various innovative technologies blended in learning and teaching activities could mimic different real-life as well as risky working scenarios, help students comprehend complex structure and operational principles, providing flexibility in learning. TEL is also important to prepare students to successfully engage in this new technological world and guarantee their bright future ahead.
New Teaching Facilities
The hub is furnished with brand new BIM software, and a variety of equipment in Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR) and Mixed Reality (MR), blend with BIM applications like HoloLens, 3D laser scanning, and the unmanned aircraft system.
Simulated Airport Operations Centre
Featuring airport operations, airport emergency and flight simulation elements, the centre provides students with opportunities to familiarize with the professional practices and procedures of the aviation industry which enhance their aviation knowledge and improve their problem solving skills.
VTC STEM Education Centre
Fostering education support to students with an innovative learning approach, including enhancement of students’ proficiency in fundamental subjects such as Mathematics.
Virtual & Augmented Reality (VAR) Learning Centre
VAR learning packages are developed to assist students to understand the engineering professional knowledge in a immersive environment, making learning more stimulating and interactive.
Full Mission Shiphandling Simulator Centre
The Centre in full compliance with international standards and regulations, including the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW), providing simulation of a wide variety of scenarios, to meet different training needs of marine professionals ranging from navigators to masters and harbour pilots.
AI and Robotics (AIR) Centre
AI and Robotics Centre provides trainings relating to computational design, robots manufacturing, programmatic reasoning, and human-machine collaboration, etc.
IoT Innovation & Technology Centre
The Centre provides a purpose-driven three-in-one platform for teachinging & learning, applied research and multi-disciplinary interactive learning. Students will develop design thinking skills, and collaborative and problem-solving skills.
