The 5th "New Energy New Generation 2025" (NENG 2025), held alongside "The Week of New Energy Vehicles," has been organised by the IVE Engineering Discipline since 2017. This initiative gives secondary school students a chance to bridge theory and practice, moving from design to hands-on testing, as they build and race solar-powered vehicles with unique features. It sparks enthusiasm for engineering, sustainable energy technologies, and innovation among young participants.
This year's competition continues to feature 4 categories: Rideable Solar Car, Mini Solar Car, Solar Boat, and Solar Glider, attracting a total of 49 secondary schools participating across various categories.
The Final cum Award Ceremony took place at IVE Campus, Tsing Yi on 30th August. This year, we were privileged to have Mr. Raymond POON, JP, Director of Electrical & Mechanical Services, as our Guest of Honor. We also welcomed distinguished leaders and talents from various industries to serve as judges, ensuring a fair and thoughtful selection of winners across all four categories.
