The URA / IVE Innovation Design Competition 2020/21 marked the fourth year of collaboration between the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) and the VTC, aiming to nurture students’ creative potential to improve the living standards of residents of old urban districts.
This year, the participating students were required to design a solution to help monitor public hygiene in old urban areas. The teams of students from the HD in Computer and Electronic Engineering, Building Studies and Building Services Engineering programmes received Merit Awards. In addition, a project named “IoT (Internet of Things) of Gas Sensor with Think Speak”, developed by students of the HD in Computer and Electronic Engineering programme, received the Smartest Design Award.
