Expert from UK gives seminar on collapse of World Trade Centre and fire engineering safety

Professor Colin Bailey, Deputy President and Deputy Vice-Chancellor of University of Manchester, was invited to IVE (Tsing Yi) for giving a lecture on “Collapse of World Trade Center & Fire Engineering” on 20 April, 2016.
Professor Bailey gave insight to the understanding of full-scale fire tests, observation from real fires in World Trade Centre and structural fire engineering during the lecture. His recent research work introduced a proposed method for designers to identify the possible failure modes of structures at elevated temperatures. The lecture has attracted over 100 engineering staff and students who attended.
