The Industry 4.0 Conference was held on 2 June 2017 at the VTC THEi Building. Ir Dr Hon Lo Wai Kwok, Member of the Legislative Council; Dr David Chung, Under Secretary for Innovation and Technology; Ir Ringo Yu, Vice President of the Hong Kong Institute of Engineers and Ir Dr Eric Liu, Academic Director of VTC Engineering Discipline were invited as guests of honour.
The concept of Industry 4.0 originates from a project which was part of the high-tech strategy of the German government that promoted the computerisation of manufacturing. Mr Toni Drescher, an expert in technology management, automated tissue engineering on demand, supply management as well as cost analysis and optimisation, was invited from Germany to be one of the speakers and to share his insights with the audience.
