Jointly organised by the Civil Aviation Department (CAD), the RMIT University of Australia and the IVE Engineering Discipline: the Aviation Industry Forum 2017 was staged at the CAD Headquarters on 26 May 2017.
Based on the theme Smart Technology for Aviation, the forum comprised professionals and educators from both Australia and Hong Kong who shared the latest trends, developments and challenges for the aviation industry, including related education and training needs, with industry practitioners. The discussion covered a wide range of topics including New Challenges in Smart Airports, Automation, Robotics for Airport Operations and Skills Competency for Aviation. The forum also had the honour of hosting Ms Michaela Browning, Australian Consul General of Hong Kong & Macau; Captain Victor Liu, Deputy Director General of Civil Aviation; Prof. Peter Coloe, Pro-vice Chancellor of RMIT University and Ir Dr Eric Liu, Academic Director (Engineering) of VTC as the officiating guests. The inspirational messages shared by the speakers led to a fruitful discussion and received positive comments from more than 200 participants.
