On 17 November 2025, the Aviation and Maritime Education Centre of the VTC and Shaanxi Century Aviation Technology UAV Co., Ltd (SJHK) signed a landmark the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on unmanned aircraft training, the expansion of low-altitude flying applications and the development of the low-altitude economy. This MoU marks a new era of the drone industry in Hong Kong, focused on nurturing top-tier engineering professionals in these specialised fields.
The MoU covers the following key initiatives:
- To support the development of Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) drone training programme in Hong Kong;
- To explore real-world applications of unmanned aircraft in various industries;
- To establish and develop a platform for management of low-altitude airspace.
Through this strategic partnership, the VTC and SJHK will leverage their respective strengths in technical research, engineering education, and industry expertise.
By integrating resources and sharing knowledge, the collaboration will offer students a broader, more in-depth training experience, while driving the growth of Hong Kong’s emerging low-altitude economy.
