On 14 May 2026, the Engineering Discipline of the Vocational Training Council (VTC) and  Guangzhou Light Industry Technician College signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration on joint curriculum development. Through the Vocational Professionals Admission Scheme (VPAS), the partnership aims to promote the coordinated development of vocational and professional education and training (VPET) in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and to nurture high-calibre engineering and technology talent with an international perspective for both the Mainland China and Hong Kong.

Under the MoU, the two institutions will enhance exchange and cooperation, formulate a joint work plan, and promote curriculum development and joint training arrangement. Mutual visits and project-based cooperation are expected to broaden students’ horizons, help young people better align with national development priorities, and contribute to the long-term development of both the country and Hong Kong.
