To enhance training in response to the manpower development needs of the aviation industry in the digital era, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the Vocational Training Council (VTC) and Hong Kong Aviation Industry Association (HKAIA) on 26 October 2021.
Outlining the two parties’ joint endeavour to nurture smart talents for the aviation industry, a framework is provided in the MoU for cooperating on the provision of the Professional Diploma in Aviation Management with Smart Technology. This programme, pitched at QF Level 4, aims to provide specific training in innovation and technology for the development of smart airports. The programme is expected to improve learners’ skills in emerging technology areas such as the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence (AI), and big data. These are the key elements facilitating the operation of smart airports and thereby contributing to the sustainable development of the aviation industry.
