The Jockey Club Heavy Vehicle Emissions Testing and Research Centre (JCEC) received a donation of over HK$19 million from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. To celebrate this thankful moment, a ‘JCEC Upgraded Facilities Launch Ceremony cum Jockey Club Blue Sky Education Programme Sharing’ event was staged at IVE (Tsing Yi) on 24 September 2019. Officiated by Hon Frankie Yick, Legislative Councillor, the ceremony attracted around 100 guests from industry and VTC to join.
Being one of the Centres of Excellence in VTC, the JCEC is equipped with a wide range of state-of-the art emission testing equipment and has provided remarkable services to trade and the community over the years. With support from the Jockey Club, the latest EURO VI facilities were upgraded this year to better serve the industry on related research. With its unique facilities and professional workforce, the Centre is also committed to enhancing public understanding of the impact of vehicle emissions on air quality and the latest green techniques. During the ceremony, participants also learned about the achievements of the Jockey Club Blue Sky programme in engaging over 2500 students and 800 key industry players in striving for a greener Hong Kong.
