Armed with only 28 wooden sticks and glue, participants of this year’s Infrastructure Building Competition, an important event for secondary schools territory-wide, showcased their talents by creating models. Jointly organized by IVE Engineering, Faculty of Engineering of the University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Construction Association, this event attracted around 760 secondary students from about 80 schools. After a loading test on 7 March, the 60 top-performing teams were selected to enter the final on 28 March, which was officiated by Paul Chan Mo-po, MH, JP, Secretary for Development. The judging panel comprising engineering professionals selected winning teams for the best design award, the highest loading award, the best ratio award and the overall champion on the day.
