IVE Engineering Students Garner Multiple Accolades with Project “ScentSafe”

A team of students from the IVE Engineering Higher Diploma programme has successfully launched an innovative startup project called “ScentSafe.” The team has excelled in multiple competitions, showcasing their creativity and technical skills, and earning recognition from industry experts.

 

At the “ITCC Innovation Awards 2024/25 ” hosted by the VTC Innovation & Technology Co-creation Centre (ITCC), the team clinched the Gold Prize. They also secured the Bronze Award in the Senior Group of the “Dare to Change Business Pitch Competition,” organised by the Young Entrepreneurs Development Council.

 

“ScentSafe” stands out for its innovative design and seamless integration with a mobile app featuring voice interaction, drowsiness detection, and emergency alerts. This project cleverly blends smart technology into everyday life, addressing real-world needs and earning high praise from judges.

 

Beyond cash prizes for startup funding, the winning students from the “Dare to Change Business Pitch Competition” will gain access to rent-free office space at Hong Kong Science Park and may be nominated for major regional competitions, paving the way for their entrepreneurial dreams.

 

Moreover, at “the 1st  Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao Industry-Education Integration Technology Skills Innovation and Application Competition" held in December 2025, the " ScentSafe" competed against 86 innovative teams from Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Macao, securing the First Prize in the Practical Technology Innovation Category (Tertiary Education Group). This achievement highlights its technical proficiency and affirms its direction in addressing challenges.

 

IVE Engineering warmly congratulates the students on their remarkable achievements and remains dedicated to nurturing young innovators, driving the growth of innovation and technology in Hong Kong.
